Inspiring artist. Claude Monet.

Claude Monet, was born, 14 November, 1840. And passed away, 5 December, 1926. i understand he is a very old artist however, ever since i learnt about him in my second year at high school, i have been completely inspired by his pieces. his usual piece involves nature. i think his images are very peaceful and loose. I have used him in various projects. Here are some pieces that i am fond of.

This next image, is my absolute favorite piece by Monet. The 'Water Lilly Pond'. In 1983, monet discovered a pond which he took a liking to. By 1900, he had produced ten images of the pond all in different lights and tones etc. here is one of them.

J'adore.

This is my latest project, the aim, is to create a project about a celebrity or a family member who you adore, i have chosen Michael Jackson. The reason being is the fact that i have grown up surrounded by a family who loves him, i am very pleased i chose him for my project, as he is such an exciting character and has so much history in his life which i could involve in my project.

This piece is am image of Michael Jackson as a young boy. To do this piece i have used image maker. Throughout this project, i have used image maker quite a lot, and i have grow to really like the technique. i first tried it in an earlier project and didn't seem to fond of it as you need to use the right technique in removing the paper from the fabric. i plan to use this a lot more though my project.

This piece is a little like image maker, however instead i used emulsion, the reason being is, as you can see, the image doesn't come out as perfect as the image maker does. However i really like this effect as it is again, a picture of Michael as a child, so now the image looks like it has been through a lot and has turned out to be very 'tacky' and 'old'.

This image i have drawn out in my sketch book, it is an image of Michael singing on stage as a child. i have done this image with pencil and charcoal, which are both involved in my specialty in this project, which is Mixed Media. This image i am very tempted to use it in my final piece. However, further development is needed.

This is the development i produced from the black and white image above, i was seriously considering using this image for my final piece.

This is one of my most recent images from my project, as i am moving throughout his life in my project i have now moved on to the 'Thriller' time of life. I have simply used pencil for this image, i really like the final result, however, i think i could do better and i also think i could develop it further.

This are two of the dry points that i produced, i really enjoyed doing this, as i really liked the way the results turned out. i was considering doing more of them and making a final piece, but my speciality in this project was drawing, painting and mixed media. So i decided to just use it as developments through my project.

These images are A4 pieces cut into half and have been made into a mini flip book of Michael Jackson's features, his nose and his mouth, the flip book is so you can see the differences he made to himself, and the next couple of images will show how different he was throughout his life.

For example, the image of the nose is Michael at his young age and the shape and color nose he had, the lips for instance are the lips he had when he was older, just before he died.

And on this image, shows the nose he had when he was older and the lips he had when he was younger.

Some of the changes he had done i used them and put them on a big chart like piece to show the difference together. By doing all of this development, i noticed that the main thing i had concentrated on throughout my project was the changes throughout Michael Jackson's life. I had done when he was a child, to when he grew a little more and before he died. So i decided to focus my final piece on the physical changes of him.

To this project, this was my final piece and this is how it turned out, it was drawn and painted on a canvas which i stretched myself, i don't think its the best work i have ever done, but i am happy with the way it perfectly fits into my project and i think it is a good enough outcome, it makes sense. Over all i am happy with my project and i really enjoyed doing it as i am a huge fan of Michael Jackson.

Baby Toys Project.

Due to technical difficulties, i cannot write beneath the two images of the children's toys above. So hear goes. These are parts of the development work in the beginning of my sketch book, it is me basically settling into the project and finding my strengths with the work. i decided i need to develop my ideas further. So i decided to try out my skills with clay. I began by making this child's toy. I was very happy with it and decided to develop it by making other toys, to create a sort of play box for a child. I was going to use or have this in my final piece.

This is another part of my final piece, i chose to do various items out of clay for baby's toys and then i decided to add a canvas of a baby photo to put in a child's room.  The colors are very bright and bold. i was really happy with the final piece, and it shows many different skills and i have taken a liking to using clay and plan to use it more often.

This is my fully finished final piece, all together.

Project, combat theme.

To begin this project i started to take primary source photos from around my garden, the only photo that wasnt taken at the begining of the project is the Ivory leaf that is shown below. This project was all to do with printing skills. I thought i would really dislike it, but turns out, a couple of weeks in, i began finding myself absolutly loving it. I loved working with print and have found that in other projects i have been using it more and more.

This is an image from a primary source for my latest project, my theme was combat and i needed to draw and collect pictures. I took pictures of different leaves for different reasons, this for instance, was specifically to draw and annotate.

This image, was also taken to draw and annotate. This wasn't my favorite image because there is a slight smudge and the background, with the mud in the garden doesn't look good. however, i only used this photo to draw from.

This image, is of an ivory leaf, i took this because this was used for my final piece, i drew this image in my sketch book and i fitted it around my A1 final piece for decoration and to show i have used primary sources throughout the project. the purpose of the project was to look and design an outfit with a certain theme, as my theme was combat i chose to involve leaves with my final piece, my final design was a female evening gown which was a very lime green color with ivory leaves wrapped around the body, i did the full design of the gown on one half, and i then did three images of the ivory leaves in different colors for different seasons, for example, an orange and brown color for autumn. i was happy with the outcome.
This image was taken from my back garden, i took this image by lying on the grass and looking upwards with my camera, i chose to do that, because on that day the sky was all one color, there were no clouds and the sun didn't get in the way of the image, i used this as a primary source photo in the sketch book.

This was one of my first image that i created. It used felt fabric for the helmet i painted the face and the camouflage and i used real leafs and netting for the background. At the time i was very pleased with the result, looking back now i think i can do better.

These are the first lino prints i created, after using lino several times throughout this project, it is still not my favourie. I like the result, its just not the best, im a fan of detail!

This above, is simply just testing out different materials on different fabrics, i used ink on this piece of fabric, by wetting the fabric first, made the result a lot more clear.

Lino prints.

I used felt to make this leaf, this was just an experiment i never wanted to take it any futhur becuase felt is not my favourite material. Although, on this particular piece, i like the outcome, i like how the colours and shape fits into the project well.

This is my first tye dye. I had to dye it three times in total, i am extremely happy with the result, it came out exactly how i pictured it.

To develop my tye dye fabric and to develop my printing skills. I decided to print onto the fabric, i adored this piece and i now wish i took it furthur, i think it could have developed really well.

This is another few pages of lino prints that i created.

From the Ivroy leaves you saw above, it was also used as a primary source for this drawing. I liked the result and this is what gave me the idea for my final piece.

These three gowns can be swapped and changed from bottom to top to show different ideas for each different dress, how i got to this idea was simple, i imvolved all of my class mates, i showed my Ivory leaf drawing and together as a class we came up to ideas for clothing. One of them was night gowns, this idea stuck in my mind and i decided to go ahead with it.

This was my final piece at the end of the project, the leaves on the left are showing the Ivroy leaves on the dress in detail, the leaves on the right are showing the different colours that the dress would have for autum winter and spring. I am really pleased with the outcome to this project and i really enjoyed doing it.
